Rules For Interpretation

How to Understand the Scriptures:
I have gathered the following guidelines from the Scriptures to help gain a correct understand of what God said. These rules are intended to prevent confusion and to challenge the influence of our Greek-Roman Western thinking. In today’s culture, one important instruction is the call to come out, and leave behind the confusion left behind from the four major world Empires called “Babylon” that has brought us to our present Greek-Roman Western culture in the United States and in other Nations. The evil spirits of opposition have been actively promoting false teachings and leading people away from keeping their focus on the instructions found in the Scriptures including the testimony Jesus and those who follow Him alone. As mortal beings, we each possess our own limited viewpoints and understanding. Therefore, we rely on one another as the Holy Spirit equips us with gifts and there is much to learn from each other. My personal motto is “TEST EVERYTHING,” and I am committed to ensuring my beliefs are anchored in the Scriptures. I am open to learning and unlearning, allowing the Father’s seven spirits to lead and guide me as I anticipate the imminent return of Jesus. Any truth found here is attributed to the Almighty Father’s sovereignty, and I take responsibility for my ignorance or errors. If bible students followed these rules we would have less serious division and the Holy Spirit would bring us together in the truths needed today.
In studying the Bible, I have found the following rules to be of great service to myself, and now share them to the readers. Every rule should be well studied, in connection with the scripture references, so the Bible student would be benefited by them.
RULE I. Every word must have its proper bearing on the subject presented in the Bible.
PROOF: Matthew 5:18.
RULE II. All scripture is necessary and may be understood by a diligent application and study.
PROOF: 2 Timothy 3:15, 16, 17.
RULE III. Nothing revealed in the scripture can or will be hid from those who ask in faith, not wavering.
PROOFS: Deuteronomy 29:29. Matthew 10:26, 27. 1 Corinthians 2:10. Philippians 3:15. Isaiah 14:11. Matthew 21:22. John 14:13, 14. James 1:5, 6. 1 John 5:13, 14, 15.
RULE IV. To understand, bring all the scriptures together on the subject you wish to know; then let every word have its proper influence, and if you can form your theory without a contradiction, you will not error.
PROOFS: Isaiah 28:7-29. Isaiah 35:8. Proverbs 19:27. Lucas 24:27, 44, 45. Romans 16:26. James 5:19. 2Peter 1:19, 20.
RULE V. Scripture must be its own expositor, it is a rule of itself. If I depend on a man to teach it to me, and he should guess at its meaning, or desire to have it agree with his church or personal belief, or he is believed to be educated and wise, then his guessing, desire, doctrine or wisdom is my rule, not the Scriptures.
PROOFS: Psalms 19:7-11. 119:97-105. Matthew 23:8-10. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16. Ezekiel 34:18-19. Lucas 11:52. Malachi 2:7-8.
RULE VI. The Almighty Father has given Prophecy of things to come, by visions, in figures and parables, and by these ways the same things are often revealed over and over again, by different visions, or in different figures, and parables. To understand them, I must combine them all in one.
PROOFS: Psalms 89:19. Hosea 12:10. Habakkuk 2:2. Acts 2:17. 1 Corinthians 10:6. Hebrews 9:9, 24. Psalms 78:2. Matthew 8:13, 34. Genesis 41:1-32, Daniel 2, 7, 8. Acts 10:9-16.
RULE VII. Visions are always mentioned as such.
PROOF: 2 Corinthians 12:1.
RULE VIII. Figures always have a figurative meaning, and are used much in prophecy, to represent future things, times and events; such as mountains, meaning governments; beasts, meaning kingdoms. Waters, meaning people. Seven Lamps, meaning Seven Spirits of God. Day, meaning year, or 1,000 years. PROOFS: Daniel 2:35, 44. 7:8, 17. Revelation 17:1, 15, Psalms 119:105. Ezekiel 4:6.
RULE IX. Parables are used as comparisons to explain subjects, and must be explained in the same way as figures by the subject and Scriptures. PROOF: Mark 4:13.
RULE X. Figures sometimes have two or more different significations, as day is used in (King James Version) a figurative sense to represent different periods of time. The KJV Bible uses the word “Day” to include: Light – Darkness – Day – Night – Evening – Morning – Twilight – 4 different Nigh Watches. Today, all Nations put all of these different periods of appointed time into a 24 hour day. If you would like help to understand the Creator’s perfect time keeping system which all Prophecy was appointed on, send me a request on the Contact Page.
1. Indefinite
2. Definite, a day for a year
3. Day for a thousand years
4. Day for Light
5. Day for Night
6. Day for 24 hours
7. Day for 12 hours
8. Day of the week
9. Day for day and night
10. Day for night and day
As you see even the King James English in 1611 AD had translated to English and there are some serious problems that we were warned would take place about the changing of “TIME” in Daniel 7:25. This “Day” required my knowledge of Astronomy to come to a full understanding of “Day.” We don’t need Hebrew or Greek to identify and understand what we need to know. In Prophecy understanding the correct use of the original perfect calendar was critical before I began this prophecy study.
If you put on the right construction it will harmonize with the Bible and make good sense, otherwise, it will not.
PROOFS: Ezekiel 4:6. 2 Peter 3:8.
RULE XI. How to know when a word is used figuratively. If it makes good sense as it stands, and does no violence to the simple laws of nature, then it must be understood literally, if not, figuratively.
PROOFS: Revelation 12:1, 2. 17:3-7.
RULE XII. To learn the true meaning of figures, trace your figurative word through the Scriptures, and where you find it explained, put it on your figure, and if it makes sense you don’t need to look any further, if it doesn’t make sense, look again.
RULE XIII. To know whether we have the true historical event for the fulfillment of a prophecy. If we find every word of the prophecy (after the figures are understood) is literally fulfilled, then you may know that your history is the true event. But if one word lacks a fulfillment, then you must look for another event, or wait its future development. Father takes care that history and prophecy agrees, so that the true believing followers of Jesus may never be ashamed.
PROOFS: Psalms 21:5. Isaiah 14:17-19. 1Peter 2:6. Revelation 17:17. Acts 3:18.
RULE XIV. The most important rule of all is, that we must have faith. It must be a faith that requires a sacrifice, and, if tried, would give up the dearest object on earth, the world and all its desires, character, living, occupation, friends, home, comforts, and worldly honors. If any of these should hinder our believing any part of the Scriptures, it would show our faith to be vain. How can we believe when one of these motives lies in our heart. We must believe that Almighty Father will never forfeit his word. And we can have confidence that he that takes notice of the sparrow, and numbers the hairs on our heads, will guard the translation of his own word, and throw a barrier around it, and prevent those who sincerely trust in him, and put full confidence in his word, from erring to far from the truth, though they may not understand Hebrew or Greek.
These are some of the most important rules and understanding I have found in the Scriptures that causes me to adopt and follow, so I can understand what I need to know, understand, and apply to my life. And if I am helped to stay on the right path with these rules and allow the Father’s sent Spirit to be my Guide, I pray that I avoid the dead end road. I have found the Scriptures, as a whole, one of the most simple, plain, and intelligible books ever written, containing proof of its divine origin, and full of all knowledge that my heart and mind could wish to know and enjoy. I have found it a treasure which the world cannot purchase. It gives a calm peace in believing, and a firm hope in the future. It sustains the mind in adversity and teaches me to be humble in prosperity. It prepares me to love and do good to others, and to realize the value of the soul. It makes me bold and valiant for the truth, and helps me to oppose error. It gives me a powerful weapon to avoid apostasy, and makes known the only antidote for sin. It instructs me how death will be conquered, and how the bonds of the tomb must be broken. It tells me of future events, and shows the preparation necessary to meet them. It gives me an opportunity to hold conversation with the King of kings, and reveals the best code of laws ever enacted.
This is not a full view of its value; how many perishing souls treat it with neglect, or, what is equally as bad, treat it as a hidden mystery which cannot be understood. Please reader, make it your chief study. Test and see if these Scriptures are not much more than I can express. Yes, building a loving relationship with Jesus and the Father requires me to take an interest in what is important to them. It is not all about me, and what I want and need. It is all about the promise made when man fell in the Garden of Eden. A Sacrifice of blood would be made that would open the “Door” for us to enter into Eternal life.
All religious schools are always founded on their Churches doctrines, policies, and traditions. For many It may be ok to take a blank mind and teach him an established religion’s doctrines, but it will always ends in bigotry. A free mind will never be satisfied with the views of others. Were I guiding youth in religious studies, I would first learn their capacity and mental ability. If they were good, I would have them study the Scriptures for themselves, and send them out free to do the world good. But if they had no mental ability to understand, I would put some other’s understanding into their mind, and write bigot on their forehead, and send them out as a slaves! The Creators gave us each a independent brain. He had no plan to make us robots. I value others who are willing to sit with me and are willing to enjoy sharing what they have learned and desire to hear also what I can share. In this way we help each other and understand the Seven Spirits the Father sent to each Assembly is for the members. These Seven Spirits are found in Isa 11:2. They are also the Seven Lamps of Fire on the Golden Lamp Stand in the Holy Place in the tent at Mt Sinai. Jesus in Revelation also is standing in the midst of Seven Golden Lamp-stands (not candlesticks). These Seven Lamp-stands confirmed the Seven Assemblies in Asia Minor were Hebrew Assemblies. Christian Churches don’t see understand the Seven Spirits of God that is symbolized in the Lamp-stand with Seven Lamps of Fire.
